The authors of the Finnish sustainability guidebook “Ekosetti” have released a new publication, ”Ekosetti in Euros – A Peek into the Economics of Production Sustainability”. It discusses the relationship between the economy and ecology of Finnish film and TV productions. The publication includes a selection of concrete examples that illustrate the ecological and financial impacts of everyday choices made in productions. The aim of the publication is to challenge and inspire readers to reconsider the myth of a higher price tag for sustainable practices—and to demonstrate that more responsible solutions can also save money.
The publication “Ekosetti in Euros” was written by Anne Puolanne and Kaisa “Kaika” Astikainen, and ”E€” is an independent follow-up to the sustainability guidebook Ekosetti (2019). The publication and its supplementary materials have been created with the Structural Support for the Renewal of Cultural and Creative Sectors from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, as part of Audiovisual Producers Finland – APFI’s Avaus Sustainability Project.
Ekosetti in Euros and Ekosetti are available for download from ekosetti.fi (FI & EN). Soon, Ekosetti in Euros -excel will also be published on the website, which allows one to rotate selected E€ calculations to suit their own production.
