Finnish productions in development and in production

Anima is an award-winning animation studio. We have been one of the pioneers of the Nordic 3D animation scene since 2000. Character animation and telling stories through animation is the driving force for our studio. Our seamlessly connected studios in Helsinki and Kuala Lumpur have been the trusted service studios for Sky’s Moominvalley, Tencent’s The Adventures of Little Penguin to Lego Star Wars among others. As a producer we are best known for our three Niko films (2008, 2012, 2024) and our new family adventure Fleak currently in the official selection (Annecy presents) of this year’s festival.

Born around a tiny character with a contagious giggle, Gigglebug has become the go-to provider of joy-inducing 2D animation in Europe. Their world-class story artists, designers, animators, directors, and producers sit in two hubs on polar opposite sides of Europe: Helsinki and Las Palmas. Gigglebug’s own IP include series such as The Unstoppable Yellow Yeti and Best & Bester. Their service work include series and features such as the Emmy winning Merry Little Batman, Super Duper Bunny League and 101 Dalmatian Street.

Character House is a production company based in Helsinki, founded in 2018 by producer Mia Palmgren and writer / director Krista Hannula. We develop and produce both animation and live action with a strong focus on character-driven stories for children, teens and young adults. Over the years we have produced several TV series and short films for children and teenagers together with Finnish public broadcaster YLE. On the feature film side, Character House’s first feature film A Mother (2019) was critically acclaimed and received a Jussi nomination in 2020, and our second feature film Wingman the Movie: All in (2024) was an instant box office success and the third most-watched film in Finnish cinema in 2024.

Ink and Light was established by director Leevi Lemmetty and producer Tamsin Lyons in 2012 to create entertaining and engaging stories for family audiences. We’ve been producing and co-producing animated series, short films and digital stories since then, from Finland and our sister company in Ireland.

We are a company who believes that the world is in need of GUTSY and meaningful content. All of our productions are aimed at international audiences with a positive social impact.
