City of Helsinki Leads AV Sector Delegation to Tokyo
This October, the City of Helsinki is organizing a targeted trade mission to Tokyo for Helsinki’s audiovisual sector. The trip aims to open doors for Helsinki-based film and TV professionals, foster lasting network connections, and explore new co-production and market opportunities in Japan’s dynamic AV industry.
The delegation includes a talent agency, production companies, film festivals, and Audiovisual Producers Finland – APFI.
The action-packed three-day itinerary includes:

The mission concludes on the evening of October 16 with a high-level reception at the Embassy of Finland in Tokyo. The event will also celebrate the Finland Film Festival, which kicks off the following day, October 17th.

Helsinki International Film Festival (HIFF) organizes two main annual events in Helsinki each September:
Love & Anarchy (Rakkautta & Anarkiaa): Established in 1988, it is Finland’s largest film festival, featuring over 130 feature films and 130 short films across 400+ screenings over 11 days.
Finnish Film Affair (FFA): An industry event and September market for film professionals, focusing on pitching, international co-productions, financing, and networking for Finnish and Nordic films.
HIFF is supported by the Finnish Film Foundation, the City of Helsinki, and the EU’s Creative Europe MEDIA programme.
DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival takes place annually in February. The next festival will be held on Feb 5–14, 2027.
Attracting 25 000–30 000 visitors, it screens around 100 feature documentaries, with international selections debuting as Finnish premieres. The festival explores global issues, humanity, and the environment through nonfiction storytelling, while championing equality, diversity, and ecological sustainability.
