Anni Wessman has been named Head of International at Audiovisual Producers Finland – APFI. Wessman will begin in the new role as of January 1st, 2019.
Wessman has extensive experience within the audiovisual industry, particularly in internationalization efforts. She has previously worked for production companies, film festivals, film commissions, and with funding in addition to as an entrepreneur. Wessman has also worked abroad within the creative industries. She holds an MA in Film Studies.
“APFI is greatly invested in internationalization, and Anni is precisely the right individual to help APFI grow and develop in the right direction. It’s wonderful to have someone so experienced and motivated join our team,” APFI’s Executive Director Teemu Kalliala comments.
“When you’re responsible for advancing the internationalization of the Finnish audiovisual industry and helping to develop its international network, I know I’ll be working on something I’m incredibly passionate about. I want to listen to the thoughts and needs of the industry and its producers, as well as ensure we capitalize on the current international interest, which has grown in recent years partly thanks to Finland’s new production incentive”, Wessman notes.
