Focus on Finland documentary scheme will promote five upcoming and fresh documentaries at the start of the Finnish Film Affair in Helsinki. Cozy Documentary Lunch event will be held on the Uunisaari island, just a short boat ride from the Helsinki mainland. International guests including festivals, sales agents, buyers, distributors and media) have been invited in collaboration with Finnish Film Affair.
At the Uunisaari island Doc event producers and directors will present upcoming and new documentaries, including renowned director John Webster’s work in progress Burnt Earth by Yellow Film & TV. In addition, there will be presented director Suvi West’s newest title Homecoming (Vaski Filmi), which was just premiered in TIFF with great reviews and three other works in progress; Omid – Hope (Guerilla Films), Shadowland (Bufo) and The Arctic Circle of Lust (Zone2 Pictures). All the selected titles are highly unique projects. The showcase will be followed by lunch and networking (and sauna!) with Finnish industry representatives.

Focus on Finland is the first joint export venture for the key players in the Finnish Audiovisual Industry. The project’s aim is to strengthen the promotion of Finnish content in international industry events and increase the opportunities for Finnish content creators to get international funding, sales and distribution.
Focus on Finland’s documentary initiative is carried out in collaboration with Audiovisual Producers Finland – APFI, AVEK, Yle – The Finnish Broadcasting Company and Finnish Film Foundation.
